Workshop of Architectural and Urban Design 2024/25 - University of Padua
In June 2025, Spazio 35 at the San Gaetano Cultural Center hosted an exhibition showcasing the projects of fifth-year Building Engineering-Architecture students from the University of Padua, created as part of the Workshop and Urban Planning course taught by Lecturer Andrea Boito. On display will be eleven design proposals for the renovation of the Eremitani Museum, with a particular focus on creating a new entrance and reorganizing the inner cloister.
The theme arises from a real need: the museum’s current entrance, which is barely visible and not very functional, is no longer adequate for the increasing number of visitors. The students tackled a complex historical and architectural context, seeking contemporary solutions that respect the character of the site. The proposals range from lightweight structures and multifunctional spaces to new architectural filters, all developed in dialogue with Franco Albini’s famous installation, preserving its value and identity. The exhibition includes design boards and scale models displayed in self-built totem structures, constructed by the students in a dedicated self-build workshop
